Ali Ekber Cinar is a doctoral candidate at the McGill University Faculty of Law, specializing in two primary research areas: [1] law and technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property (IP); and [2] law and religion, particularly in Islamic finance and Ottoman legal history.
His academic work frequently engages with comparative law and legal history. Alongside his legal studies, he has received training in programming languages, data science, machine learning, and statistical methods at McGill University. He is a member of the IT team at the Cyberjustice Laboratory at the University of Montreal.
