CYBERJUSTICE LABORATORY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Université de Montréal's Cyberjustice Laboratory regularly invites new researchers and practitioners to join its ranks as Fellows and enrich its research community.
THE LABORATORY'S FELLOWS
THE LABORATORY IN BRIEF
The Cyberjustice Laboratory is a leading research space serving a multidisciplinary and international research team of up to 50 researchers, dedicated to studying the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into judicial systems, and assessing their multiple impacts on legal parameters and the practices of judicial actors.
A leader in LegalTech and equipped with a research infrastructure unique in North America with its technological courtrooms and computer lab, the Cyberjustice Laboratory stands out for its innovative work aimed at improving access to justice, promoting fairness in judicial processes, and addressing contemporary challenges facing the judicial field. Among its major contributions, the Laboratory explores themes such as virtual courts, immersive technologies (such as mixed reality), and the potential of using AI to improve access to law and justice, as well as the practices of judicial actors.
FELLOWSHIP AT THE CYBERJUSTICE LABORATORY
Laboratory Fellows complement the Laboratory team and bring their expertise to enrich the research and innovation projects we conduct. Collaborating with lawyers, technology experts and social science researchers, they participate in the design and deployment of innovative technological solutions adapted to the judicial sector, empirical technology assessment studies or various knowledge mobilization activities bringing together researchers, students, practitioners and the private sector.
For example, Fellows may be involved in flagship projects such as JusticeBot, which aims to simplify access to justice through generative AI, and LLMediator, a tool designed to strengthen online mediation practices as a complement to human mediators. Fellows can also take part in the Laboratory's Summer School, designed to provide training in cyberjustice, artificial intelligence and law.
PROFILE OF LABORATORY FELLOWS
Fellows of the Laboratory generally hold positions in academia, research, the senior civil service or the judiciary. Fellows of the Laboratory may also be young researchers who stand out for their research or professional achievements related to digital issues associated with law, justice or public policy.
HOW TO BECOME A LABORATORY FELLOW
Fellow status is granted by invitation only.
