The goal of this working group is to identify the degree to which digitalization of justice can increase its efficiency and facilitate access. To achieve this goal, the Group will establish an inventory of the technologies available for cyberjustice purposes:
- Electronic case filing and management;
- Electronic evidence management;
- Hearing room interface management;
A typology of the use of these technologies by the different stakeholders in the Canadian, American, European and Australian justice communities will also be established. The study of international cyberjustice initiatives will allow us to identify the elements relevant to the Canadian legal context. For example, many things can be learned from the experiences of a European country that has already begun using videoconferencing in courts before we begin doing likewise in Canada.
