Research Visiting Student
NOTE: The research student-visitor must apply for a research internship at least six months before the desired start date of their internship. We invite you to visit the website of the International Students Office and to consult the requirements for entering and staying in Canada, which can be found on this site.
What is a student research visitor?
The student research visitor is enrolled in a study program at another university or in a university-level institution and who, in order to meet certain requirements of this program, is hosted by the Université de Montréal for research training, for a period not exceeding 12 months.
The visiting research student is admitted and registered by the Faculté des études supérieures :
- He does not apply for any degree at l'Université de Montréal;
- He does not take courses at l'Université de Montréal.
Who is eligible for the Cyberjustice Laboratory Student Visiting Research Program?
2nd and 3rd cycle students who are registered in a program of study in another university or in a university-level institution and whose fields of research are related to information technology law, justice and AI.
How do I apply for admission?
In order to be invited as a research visiting student at the Cyberjustice Laboratory of the Université de Montréal, you must first send the following documents to Alexandre Lapalme (alexandre.lapalme@umontreal.ca ):
- Your curriculum vitae
- A motivation letter with your desired dates of stay (1 page)
- A description of your research project and a global study plan (2 pages maximum)
NOTE: Student-visitors must participate in the scientific life of the Laboratory community and are called upon to present their work through student seminars. They also have the obligation to attend scientific activities organized by the Cyberjustice Laboratory and the LexUM Chair on Legal Information.
- A letter of recommendation from your thesis director or from your research center, department or faculty director.
