Nakissa Barin holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Université de Montréal and is currently completing a Juris Doctor (J.D.). Her academic background reflects a strong interest in business law and technology law. She is particularly interested in the ethical issues related to emerging technologies and the legal challenges concerning digital twins. During an exchange semester at the University of Milan, she worked as a research assistant and explored the question of the legal status of the avatar.
Alongside her studies, Nakissa works at WSP Global Inc. in construction law and actively contributes to the integration of artificial intelligence tools within the company's legal department. She also worked at Radio-Canada/CBC, where she gained insights into the functioning of the media and telecommunications sector.
