SJTO

Partner’s Presentation

The mission of the Ministry of the Attorney General is to administer the justice system, protect the public and ensure legality in government while promoting a fair and accessible justice system.

The Social Justice Tribunals Ontario (SJTO) are adjudicative tribunals with the mandate of dealing with applications and appeals, among other things, in the area of housing law through the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Project Presentation

The Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General has successfully completed a study on the feasibility of implementing the PARLe platform within the Social Justice Tribunals Ontario.

The pilot project was conducted by the Landlord and Tenant Board, a division of the SJTO responsible for settling disputes between landlords and tenants. They analysed how they could process the more than 80,000 applications that the L&T Board receives annually through a structured online dispute resolution process.
